Residence Life

Philosophy

Through the residential experience at Methodist College of Nursing, students are exposed to educational and social programs and activities that familiarize the residents with the diversity of lifestyles, backgrounds, and personalities of their peers. The residential experience provides students with value-based life skills that are transferable to the workforce and to life in general.  Recent studies demonstrate that the residence life group living experience contributes to the development of the student's maturity and overall success.

Facility

The Residence Hall is a cozy community living arrangement located on the 4th floor of the Methodist East Campus building, the same building where the College administrative offices and classrooms are located.  We offer students single rooms and private baths, which provide students with opportunities for private time for studying.  Common areas include a community tv lounge, community study lounge which is equipped with computers, on campus laundry facilities, as well as a community kitchen.  It’s “cook and clean your own” in the community kitchen, however, we also provide a meal plan in the Hospital cafeteria for students who prefer to opt for prepared meals.

The Residence Hall is staffed by two Resident Advisors (RA) whose responsibilities include facilitating a safe and secure community environment conducive to supporting the Methodist College of Nursing Mission.
